The drive was cracked across the entire top of the drive making a direct read impossible. So I ordered an exact USB drive to move the main storage chip to. It was a little hard to find a 4GB Sandisk Cruzer due to their age but we found one! Once I had the new drive I removed the current storage chip to make room for the new one. Very carefully aligning all the pins and superheating it so they bond back together. 100% of the data was recovered! That is always the best feeling.
